I had the absolute pleasure of working with Hina (Heensie) as my stylist for my headshot photoshoot. For any artist, the look and feel of headshots are so important. Hina completely nailed every look my team wanted. I felt so comfortable, heard and confident working with her. This review is a long time coming, and to give you the short of it: Working with Heensie is one of the very best investments I have EVER MADE into myself thus far in my life.

I reached out to Heensie after her first elevated emo capsule wardrobe went viral on TikTok. I was totally lost as far as personal style was concerned, and knew I wanted something to change as I was approaching a milestone birthday. Together we determined that the package at the time, which is most similar to the 'The Full Service' package that Heensie now offers, included figuring out my true measurements, style discovery, color analysis, personal shop and wardrobe recommendations, and a styling session. What started as me aimlessly hoping to discover some updated outfits, ended in me feeling fully confident in my ability to express myself exactly the way I want, know how to shop smarter, more ethically, and more sustainably, and gained a lifelong friend at the same time.

We started with the Style Discovery, in which Heensie asessed my ideals and goals for my wardrobe and why I wanted to work together in the first place. At every single step of the process, they ensured I was safe, comfortable, and gentle with myself and any socially learned criticisms about my body. Following our deep dive into pinterest, Heensie created a canva board compiling our findings, and it sparked so. much. JOY! in my heart -- this was the ideal, spelled out and visualized in a way I could never imagine.

We moved into color analysis, which was one of the most impactful parts of the experience (FOR ME! This is also one of the most subjective parts of the experience, but it was a core pillar, a building block, in my understanding how I want to present myself from that moment in time onwards). It was so fun and interactive, with Heensie showing me ALL the possible palettes, and letting me guess along and provide my thoughts before revealing my True Winter seasonal color palette! I take the "shopping by color" cheat sheet everywhere with me on my phone when I'm thrifting or shopping, and have shared it with love ones who are prone to want to buying clothes for me as gifts. Total game changer. I've never felt so confident in myself and my style as I do putting on the clothes that so perfectly make me look alive.

Next came the personal shop, where Heensie put pedal to the medal and and compiled an absolutely incredible site of personalized recommendations including color options, size recommendations, and alternates when things were sadly out-of-stock when I went to buy. There was never an expectation that I would buy it all or buy from the links she recommended -- and Heensie even encouraged me when I found similar pieces while thrifting locally!! When I did feel overwhelmed with where to start, they even created new sections with recommendations of good pieces to jump in with.

Fast forward to now, where we've finally "closed the loop" (but not really, as I said: Heensie is a friend for life now, and I KNOW there will come a time when I want to come back and seek their expert knowledge, guidance, and help again). We had our styling session using the pieces in my wardrobe and the new pieces I've acquired on this journey. Heensie helped me understand right away how to pare down to exactly what would give me confidence and feel less anxious about dressing for success and expression. I am so excited now every day to get up and get dressed, knowing that my choices are true to myself.

I worked with Heensie over the past few months and had an amazing experience! I had never felt empowered or confident when it came to fashion or even knowing what my style was. My daughter gifted me with a 90 minute session with Hina for a color analysis. I had no idea what to expect and I was excited to see what Hina would have to offer me. I'm 64 years old and I didn't know if she'd be suited to work with a "senior". Fortunately, Hina came through with flying colors (pardon the pun)! 40 years ago I attended a Color Me Beautiful party and I found that to be beneficial. But, what Hina brought to the table was mind blowing. I was so impressed with her input and with her knowledge of color on so many levels, from fabrics to wear, to jewelry, to make up, to hair color and to frames for my eyeglasses, to name a few. She has a great personality and she loves feedback which I so appreciated. It was definitely a back and forth experience. Meaning, she would share her input and I would ask questions or I would share my thoughts on her input. She was so receptive to hear what you had to say which was wonderful. Then after the appointment she sent me a file that contained all of her preparatory work (which was full of all of the information that she shared with me, including her recommendations for products and such). Hina is passionate about what she does and it shines through beautifully! She has definitely found her niche and she most certainly excels at what she does!! I think anyone would be blessed to experience what Hina has to offer!

I did a Personal Style Discovery with Heensie and it wildly exceeded my expectations. I’d been feeling stuck: I felt like I had tons of pieces but no outfits; I had no idea what my personal style was and felt drawn to every trend; I had no motivation to get dressed so I was mostly working from home in PJs and feeling like a slob. Hina walked me through questions, concerns, likes, dislikes, considerations and it was the coolest thing to see. She was so thoughtful in her questions and immediately noticed when I lit up. She helped me remember that fashion can be fun and creative! During the pandemic, I’d totally forgotten the joy I used to feel getting dressed. I feel entirely re-engerized to embrace my personal style and Hina did an excellent job identifying tangible themes in my style- which I’ll keep in mind when building outfits.

Before this call, I was skeptical I even HAD a personal style and that Hina could offer me something I wasn’t already doing on Pinterest. I was very wrong! This experience really feels life changing, which I didn’t think fashion could do. Hina helped me rediscover my expressive voice, and I suspect this exercise will save me hundreds of dollars in the long run. Now I KNOW my style and can build it appropriately.

Working with Hina was like fashion therapy. I was shocked at how holistic her approach was. We talked about the toxic environment I grew up in and how that warped my view of my body and made me feel undeserving of nice things and nice clothes. I didn’t expect that. It was very sensitive, non-judgmental and really the last thing I expected when working with a fashion stylist. We unpacked a lot and Heensie was so generous with her time (gifting me an extra session). In the end, I left with a capsule wardrobe that actually felt like me for the first time in maybe forever.

I loved working with Hina on my personal styling project. Hina provided a ton of resources, did an excellent job listening to what I was looking for and building off of that, and then putting together a shopping list and outfit recommendations. My 'The Foundation' session with Hina was such a pleasure -- I was looking forward to it for weeks and I was not disappointed. Hina quickly helped me narrow in on the root of my concerns about my wardrobe, fashion habits, and the way I view myself, and she took me through a series of really eye-opening exercises to help me define a fashion future for myself. Hina is the pinnacle of detail oriented, creative and efficient. I was required to put together a last minute capsule wardrobe plan for a business trip to LA. Hina made me feel like I had a personal stylist in the room with me. After we narrowed down the items I needed, Hina researched the stores conveniently located near my home as I didn't have time to shop online. She contacted the stores and had them pull items for me in my size, so when I arrived, I simply had to pop into the fitting room. It was a luxury. Despite being remote, everything was taken care of for me. Hina made a typically stressful experience very fun (and almost adventurous!)

I had the absolute privilege of working with Hina to develop my personal style. After completing the initial Pinterest homework, she asked thought-provoking questions that encouraged me to delve deep and question whether the style inspiration I had presented was truly authentic to my identity, as opposed to conforming to societal expectations. I feel like I've been raving to anyone who will listen about how good of a time I'm having working with Heensie but I thought I should put a formal note on here about how lovely it's been. So far I've utilized their mini services, the last of which was a seasonal color analysis, and I have to say IT WAS SO FUN! I went in with the hope that I'd get a few color recommendations that might be outside my comfort zone, but the more I've sat with our discussion the more I've realized I was operating with some seriously limiting beliefs about what colors I "could" wear. It's been a lot to unpack honestly. I was restricting myself to colors that "looked good" on fat women, pale skinned people, etc, etc. What I realized is that other people took some of the colors that I loved so much as a kid away from me (hello orange and yellow?!?), and that's a huge bummer. This will be my summer of experimenting with color and getting back in touch with the things I liked as a kid that have been somehow taken away from me. Heensie is absolutely wonderful at holding space for you where you're at and I swear to you, I leave every session with a list of things to unpack and do more work around in therapy. Love them so much I've signed on for longer term work.

I worked with Hina by purchasing the Foundation package, and it's some of the best money that I've ever spent. They're truly such a joy to work with. I am an endlessly picky and complicated client with health issues that required additional thought, and Hina was unphased and provided compassionate options for me. After receiving my package, she even worked with me on a few fixes to make sure I was 100% happy with everything. The live sessions that I had with them were so fun and enjoyable (I thought for sure they'd be a chore) and we really got to explore my style together. I truly cannot recommend her enough!
